Google recently launched Nano Banana Pro, Google's advanced image generation and editing model that builds on Gemini 3 Pro to produce images with greater precision, depth and detail.

General summary

Nano Banana Pro uses Gemini 3 Pro to better interpret prompts and generate highly detailed visuals. The model is accessible across multiple Google products and developer platforms, including the Gemini app, AI Mode in Search, NotebookLM, Google Workspace tools (Slides and Vids), Flow, and Mixboard. Developers can also work with Nano Banana Pro through Vertex AI, AI Studio, Stitch, Firebase and Antigravity, and businesses can use it in Google Ads.

1. Gemini app

Nano Banana Pro is available worldwide in the Gemini app on desktop and mobile. Choose “Create images” and pick the “Thinking” model to use Nano Banana Pro. Free-tier users have quotas; once those limits are reached the app will revert to the original Nano Banana. Google AI Plus, Pro and Ultra subscribers receive higher quotas. See the Gemini support page for quota details.

2. AI Mode in Search

You can access Nano Banana Pro from AI Mode in Search. While signed into your Google account, go to AI Mode, select “Thinking with 3 Pro” from the model dropdown, click the plus (+) icon and choose “Create Images Pro.” Then describe the image you want and Nano Banana Pro will generate it. Image generation via AI Mode is available in select countries and in English; check Google Search support for the list of supported locations.

3. NotebookLM

Nano Banana Pro is available to all NotebookLM users globally. Use it to turn source material and ideas into visual content such as Slide Decks and Infographics. NotebookLM can convert trusted documents or notes into styled slide decks, or improve an existing draft by applying consistent visual styles and color palettes. This is useful for synthesizing research and visualizing complex topics.

4. Workspace tools

Google Workspace customers can use Nano Banana Pro in Google Slides and Google Vids. In Slides, open the Gemini sidebar and select “Help me visualize” to generate infographics, images, charts and more with the upgraded model. A new “Beautify this slide” option applies Nano Banana Pro to enhance the design of the current slide; if you like the result, choose “insert as new slide.”

In Google Vids, Workspace users who select the “Image” option with the banana icon in the sidebar will be using Nano Banana Pro for visuals. When creating a video from scratch in Vids, generated visuals will be produced by the latest model.

5. Flow

Nano Banana Pro is integrated into Flow, Google's AI filmmaking tool. It provides higher fidelity and more control over frames and scenes, improved text rendering, and tools for creative adjustments such as camera-angle changes, focus shifts for depth, and advanced color grading. Nano Banana Pro in Flow is available on paid plans.

6. Mixboard

Mixboard is an experimental canvas from Google Labs for exploring and expanding ideas. Nano Banana Pro powers Mixboard’s presentations feature, turning boards into polished presentations. Use the canvas to visualize concepts for projects like DIY builds, product design, or event planning.

Developer and business access

Developers can access Nano Banana Pro through platforms including Vertex AI, AI Studio, Stitch and Firebase. Google has also introduced Antigravity, an agentic development platform that integrates with Nano Banana Pro. Businesses and brands can use the model within Google Ads; see Google Business resources for guidance and implementation tips.
