Google's Gemini Drops are periodic summaries that outline the newest features in the Gemini app. This December release includes the following improvements:
- Gemini 3 Flash - a major model upgrade that brings next-generation capabilities and much faster performance; now rolled out worldwide.
- Nano Banana - finer image editing: use touch or a cursor to circle, draw, or annotate directly on images to tell Gemini where to make edits.
- NotebookLM in Gemini - add notebooks as sources so notes and research can be combined for more grounded responses.
- Deep Research reports - Ultra users now get visual elements (animations and images) to make dense information easier to digest.
- Local results - more visually rich local suggestions with photos, ratings, and practical details pulled from Google Maps, so users can compare nearby options without leaving the conversation.
