NEC Corporation will leverage Claude as it works to create one of Japan's largest AI-native engineering organizations, rolling it out to roughly 30,000 NEC Group employees across the globe.
Through this strategic collaboration, NEC will serve as Anthropic's first global partner based in Japan. The two companies will jointly build secure, industry-focused AI products tailored to the Japanese market, beginning with tools for the finance, manufacturing, and local government sectors.

Claude for NEC's Customers
NEC and Anthropic will co-develop secure, domain-specific AI products for Japanese clients in industries such as finance, manufacturing, and cybersecurity.
NEC is also already incorporating Claude into its Security Operations Center services to help protect customers from increasingly advanced cybersecurity threats. Claude will additionally be embedded into the next-generation cybersecurity service that NEC currently offers.
Claude, including Claude Opus 4.7, and Claude Code will be integrated into NEC BluStellar Scenario-a program offering consulting, AI tools, security, and digital infrastructure to businesses-starting with its data-driven management and customer experience offerings and progressively expanding to additional areas.
How NEC Plans to Use Claude Internally
Within NEC, the company will set up a Center of Excellence to cultivate a highly skilled, AI-enabled engineering organization, with technical enablement and training support from Anthropic. NEC's goal is to establish one of Japan's largest AI-native engineering teams, with members utilizing Claude Code in their daily work.
As part of NEC's longstanding Client Zero initiative-where NEC acts as its own first customer before bringing technology to external clients-the company will also broaden its use of Claude Cowork across internal business operations.
Availability
