Anthropic has entered into a strategic partnership with Infosys, the Bengaluru-based global digital services and consulting company, to create and implement enterprise AI solutions for telecommunications, financial services, manufacturing, and software development sectors.

The partnership brings together Anthropic's Claude models and Claude Code with Infosys Topaz, which comprises AI-first services, solutions, and platforms utilizing generative and agentic AI. This integration aims to accelerate software development while meeting the governance and transparency requirements of regulated industries.

India represents Claude.ai's second-largest market, with a developer community engaged in highly technical AI work. Almost 50% of Claude's usage in India is dedicated to application development, system modernization, and production software deployment. Infosys stands among the initial partners supporting Anthropic's expanded operations in India.

Dario Amodei, Anthropic's CEO and co-founder, emphasized the importance of domain expertise in bridging the gap between demonstration-ready AI models and those suitable for regulated industries. He highlighted Infosys's deep knowledge across telecom, financial services, and manufacturing sectors, noting that their developers already utilize Claude Code for accelerating development and creating AI agents for precision-critical industries.

Salil Parekh, Infosys CEO, described AI as fundamentally redefining industry operations and innovation. He expressed that the partnership represents a strategic advancement in enterprise AI, from intelligent risk management in financial services to AI-driven design in engineering businesses.

Developing Agentic AI Solutions for Regulated Sectors

The partnership focuses on agentic AI systems capable of handling multi-step tasks independently, such as claims processing, code generation and testing, and compliance review management. Using resources like the Claude Agent SDK, the companies will assist clients in creating AI agents for persistent execution of complex, lengthy tasks and processes. The partnership also addresses legacy system modernization through Infosys Topaz and Claude integration.

Industry-specific AI agent development includes:

  • Telecommunications: AI agents supporting carriers in network operations modernization, customer lifecycle management simplification, and enhanced service delivery for highly regulated and complex operational environments.

  • Financial Services: Solutions for accelerated risk detection and assessment, automated compliance reporting, and personalized customer engagement based on comprehensive account histories and market data.

  • Manufacturing and Engineering: Claude integration to expedite product design and simulation processes, shortening R&D cycles and enabling extensive iteration testing before production.

  • Software Development: Utilizing Claude Code for code writing, testing, and debugging to streamline the development pipeline from conception to deployment.

  • Enterprise Operations: Claude Cowork implementation for automating standard tasks including document summarization, status reporting, and review processes.
