Anthropic Broadens Google and Broadcom Partnership for Multi-Gigawatt Next-Generation Compute

Anthropic has entered into an agreement with Google and Broadcom for multiple gigawatts of next-generation TPU capacity starting in 2027, representing the company's largest compute commitment yet as run-rate revenue surpasses $30 billion and the number of million-dollar business customers doubles to over 1,000.

Anthropic has signed a new agreement with Google and Broadcom for multiple gigawatts of next-generation TPU capacity expected to come online starting in 2027. This major expansion of Anthropic's compute infrastructure will power the company's frontier Claude models and help meet extraordinary customer demand worldwide.

Krishna Rao, Anthropic's CFO, described the partnership as a continuation of the company's disciplined approach to scaling infrastructure, noting that it builds the capacity needed to serve exponential customer growth while enabling Claude to remain at the frontier of AI development. He called it Anthropic's most significant compute commitment to date, driven by unprecedented growth.

Customer demand for Claude has accelerated throughout 2026. Anthropic's run-rate revenue has now exceeded $30 billion, up from roughly $9 billion at the end of 2025. When the company announced its Series G fundraising in February, more than 500 business customers were each spending over $1 million annually. That figure has since doubled to over 1,000 in less than two months.

The majority of the new compute will be located in the United States, making this a substantial expansion of Anthropic's November 2025 commitment to invest $50 billion in American computing infrastructure.

The deal deepens Anthropic's existing relationship with Google Cloud-building on the increased TPU capacity announced last October-as well as Anthropic's partnership with Broadcom.

Anthropic trains and runs Claude on a range of AI hardware-AWS Trainium, Google TPUs, and NVIDIA GPUs-allowing the company to match workloads to the most suitable chips. This hardware diversity delivers better performance and greater resilience for customers who rely on Claude for critical work. Amazon remains Anthropic's primary cloud provider and training partner, and the company continues to collaborate closely with AWS on Project Rainier. Claude remains the only frontier AI model available on all three of the world's largest cloud platforms: Amazon Web Services (Bedrock), Google Cloud (Vertex AI), and Microsoft Azure (Foundry).
