Rapid Revenue Growth

Anthropic's financial trajectory has been remarkable, with run-rate revenue reaching $14 billion - representing over 10x annual growth for each of the past three years since the company began generating revenue less than three years ago. The number of customers with annual spending exceeding $100,000 has increased sevenfold in the past year.

Enterprise Adoption

The company has established itself as the preferred intelligence platform for enterprises and developers. Customer expansion has been significant, with over 500 businesses now spending more than $1 million annually with Anthropic, compared to just a dozen two years ago. Eight of the Fortune 10 companies are now using Claude.

Claude Code Success

Claude Code, which launched publicly in May 2025, has emerged as a transformative agentic coding solution. The product's run-rate revenue has surpassed $2.5 billion, more than doubling since early 2026. Weekly active users have also doubled since January 1, 2026. Analysis indicates that approximately 4% of all GitHub public commits globally are now authored by Claude Code - double the percentage from the previous month.

Business subscriptions to Claude Code have quadrupled since the beginning of 2026, with enterprise usage now accounting for more than half of all Claude Code revenue. The technology's capabilities extend beyond coding to financial analysis, sales, cybersecurity, and scientific research.

Product Expansion

In January alone, Anthropic introduced over thirty products and features, including Cowork, which extends Claude Code's engineering capabilities to broader knowledge work tasks. Cowork features eleven open-source plugins enabling customization for specific roles like sales, legal, or finance departments. The company has also expanded into healthcare and life sciences, with Claude for Enterprise now compliant for HIPAA-regulated organizations.

Advanced Model Capabilities

Anthropic's latest model, Opus 4.6, launched last week, demonstrates enhanced capabilities for powering agents that handle comprehensive categories of real-world work. The model can generate professional-quality documents, spreadsheets, and presentations. Opus 4.6 leads globally on the GDPval-AA benchmark, which evaluates performance on economically valuable knowledge work tasks across finance, legal, and other domains.

Infrastructure and Platform Strategy

The Series G funding will support infrastructure expansion as Anthropic broadens Claude's availability. Claude remains unique as the only frontier AI model accessible across all three major cloud platforms: Amazon Web Services (Bedrock), Google Cloud (Vertex AI), and Microsoft Azure (Foundry). Anthropic trains and operates Claude using diversified AI hardware including AWS Trainium, Google TPUs, and NVIDIA GPUs, enabling optimal workload matching and enhanced performance and resilience for enterprise customers.

Market Position

Krishna Rao, Anthropic's CFO, emphasized that Claude has become increasingly essential to business operations across startups and large enterprises alike. The investment reflects substantial customer demand for enterprise-grade products and models.

Philippe Laffont from Coatue noted that Anthropic's emphasis on agentic coding and enterprise-grade AI systems has accelerated adoption at scale since their initial 2025 investment. Choo Yong Cheen from GIC characterized Anthropic as the definitive category leader in enterprise AI, highlighting breakthrough capabilities and new standards for safety, performance, and scale.
